FARTHEST INDIVIDUAL STAR - ICARUS

Spotted by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope which was launched  28 years ago
Official name of ICARUS :  MACS J1149+2223 Lensed Star 1
ICARUS is the name taken from a charector in  Greek mithology  who flew near the Sun and withers out
The farthest individual star ever seen and is located halfway across the universe and its light has taken nine billion years to reach earth.

It was not visible before . Now due to a phenomenon  referred as gravitational lensing it is visible.
Hence it is magnified by the gravity of a massive galaxy cluster which is located about five billion light years from earth.
According to Patrick Kelly at University of California, " This is the first time we are seeing a magnified , individual star . You can see individual galaxies there, but this star is at least 100 times farther away than the next individual star we can study, except for supernova explosions
